Terms of Service
These are the basic terms and conditions for using the service.
Please read the following carefully to use the service safely.
Effective Date: May 22, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Flexeam Co., Ltd. ("Company") and users ("Members") when using the mobile application service “Flexeam” ("Service" or "App").
Article 1. Effectiveness and Amendments
- These Terms are posted within the “Flexeam” application, and by signing up or using the app, Members are deemed to have agreed to them.
- The Company may amend the Terms within the bounds of applicable law, and will notify Members via announcements or in-app notices.
- If a Member does not agree with the amended Terms, they may terminate service use by withdrawing from the app.
- Members are considered to have agreed to these Terms upon app installation and registration.
Article 2. Provision of Service
- The app provides services including the following features:
- MemeTalk (Chat): Sharing text, voice, Ticoni (emoticons), contacts, Lounge, Tree, Roots, and other content with commenting features.
- Tree (Short-form): Uploading and sharing short-form videos.
- Roots (Social): SNS features for uploading and sharing multiple photos and videos.
- Ticoni (Emoticons): Creating and sharing custom emoticons as images or videos, with commenting features.
- Melony (Audio): Uploading and sharing audio files (original music or voice).
- Lobby (Profile): Uploading photos and videos, and accessing profile page features.
- Lounge (Branding): User brand page features.
- Stream: Notifications and connections for streamed user activities.
- Screw: Notifications and connections between users who have streamed each other.
- Friend Recommendations: Suggesting friends based on tags entered by the user (independent of contact information).
- Story: Recommendations for Tree/Roots posts based on media stored on the user's device.
Article 3. Registration and Withdrawal
- Members may apply to join the Service according to the Company’s designated procedure (phone verification), and the Service contract is concluded when the Company approves the application (verification code).
- Members may withdraw at any time. Upon withdrawal, their data will be deleted in accordance with applicable laws and the Privacy Policy.
Article 4. Permissions and Access
- The Service is provided through the following access permissions. All permissions are optional and require user consent. Non-consent may limit certain features.
- Location: To provide fast and smooth service based on the user's region (optional).
- Contacts: Safely storing contacts on the server to offer auto-complete when adding friends (optional). Contact data is not used for friend recommendations or shared with third parties.
- Media (Photo/Video): Uploading and editing content (Tree, Roots, Messages, Ticoni, etc.).
- Camera: Capturing and posting content in real-time.
- Audio/Microphone: Supporting audio recording, upload, and voice messages.
- Storage: Temporary storage, media sharing, and downloads.
- Push Notifications: Delivering updates within the app.
Article 5. Content and Copyright
- Members are responsible for all rights and liabilities regarding content (images, videos, audio, etc.) uploaded to the Service.
- The Company is not responsible for legal issues, including copyright disputes, related to content posted by Members.
- Members must not post content that infringes on the rights of others. All legal responsibility lies with the Member.
- Upon a copyright holder’s request, Flexeam may require official proof (e.g., copyright registration, authorization letter), and if the request is valid, may remove or restrict the content and transfer all post rights (likes, saves, comments) to the copyright holder.
Article 6. Usage Restrictions and Prohibited Conduct
- The Company may delete content, restrict service use, suspend accounts, or take legal action without prior notice if violations are found.
- Unethical expressions such as profanity, slander, or insults.
- Sexually explicit or obscene content.
- Content causing discomfort, including racism, hate speech, self-harm, suicide, or abuse.
- Excessive violence or promotion of criminal acts.
- Sexual depiction, abuse, or violence involving children.
- Illegal recordings, or violation of others’ portrait or privacy rights.
- Spam or promotional content for commercial purposes.
- Upon violation, the Company may warn, temporarily suspend, or suspend accounts, and notify Members when necessary.
Article 7. Reports and Response
- Members may report violations via in-app reporting or email.
- Reports are monitored within 24 hours and addressed as quickly as possible.
- Fair procedures are ensured to prevent disadvantages to both the reporter and the reported.
Article 8. Contact Permissions and Privacy
- The Company may access user contact information to provide auto-complete when adding friends, only with explicit consent.
- Collected contact data is not shared with third parties.
- Collected contact information is used only for the following purposes:
- Providing auto-complete when users search or add friends.
- Helping users locate acquaintances in the app.
- This information is not used for the 'Friend Recommendation' feature or algorithm.
- Users may revoke contact access in settings at any time, which may limit auto-complete functionality.
- Without permission, some features (friend recommendations, auto-complete) may be restricted.
Article 9. Disclaimer
- The Company is not responsible for the reliability or accuracy of information posted or transmitted by users in the Service.
- The Company is not liable for service interruptions due to natural disasters, technical failures, or maintenance.
- The Company’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Article 10. Service Interruption - Service may be suspended due to system maintenance, urgent security issues, or other circumstances.
Article 11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution - These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Any disputes between the Company and Members shall be resolved by the competent court based on the Company’s location.
Article 12. Miscellaneous - Matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by applicable laws or customary practices.
- Members may review the Privacy Policy on the Company website at any time.
- These Terms and related policies may be amended with prior notice when necessary.
- The official language of these Terms is Korean; translations may be provided, but the Korean version shall prevail in case of any legal disputes.
